Brazil Business Mission Trip Registration Now Open

The Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission has now opened registration for their business mission to Brazil in October 2011. Participants will leave Des Moines on October 2 and return on October 11, and will visit the cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

"Trade missions are an effective way for companies to enter into new international markets and expand their visibility in existing markets," said Dan Culhane, President and CEO of the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission. "Building on our successful joint business mission to China in 2010, we are focusing on Brazil as it is another large emerging international market with strong existing and potential ties to Iowa companies."

The Iowa delegation will explore new business opportunities in Brazil by meeting with Brazilian business leaders, U.S. Consulate staff, Iowa companies who have offices and staff working in Brazil, and other key contacts. The group will tour various business operations and explore potential foreign direct investment opportunities for Iowa. Participating businesses also will have the opportunity to participate in individual meetings with potential and existing buyers and distributers.

"We remain committed to helping Central Iowa businesses increase their exports and succeed in the international marketplace," said Martha Willits, President and CEO of the Partnership. "Developing stronger business relationships in Brazil is critical as it is one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world."

Complete information about trip details, costs, itinerary, and registration is available online at www.desmoinesmetro.com/international-trade.
